Dr. LaMattina is the author of 23 scientific publications and holds 15 U.S. patents. He is the 2004 recipient of the American Diabetes Association Award for Leadership and Commitment in the Fight Against Diabetes. Dr. LaMattina serves on the Board of Trustees of Boston College. Prior to his recent return to the institute, Dr. Carty spent 27 years as a professor of chemistry at the University of Waterloo, serving as Chairman of the chemistry department and Dean of Research. He has authored more than 285 papers in refered journals and multiple book chapters and review articles, and also has five patents. Dr. Carty is a distinguished member of multiple boards including two for the Networks of Centres of Excellence and Genome Canada. Dr. Carty is both an Officer of the Order of Canada and Officer de L'Ordre National du Merite of France. Eddie has more than 30 years of national and international experience in the medical and clinical industry having worked in the Middle East and most recently as IVRS Director for Covance in Princeton, New Jersey. Eddie worked at Covance for more than 12 years during which time he had many noteworthy accomplishments including designing and managing hundreds of IVRS projects and developing the company’s inventory forecasting system, Foresite.

New PRISYM Labeling Software Meets FDA Requirements and Saves Time

Bilcare can print labeling projects in-house, saving customers more than 3 weeks of production time on average when compared to outsourcing. “The installation of PRISYM label software is the latest step in our ongoing effort to continually improve the quality of service we offer our customers,” said Bilcare America’s President, Vincent Santa Maria. “The recent upgrading of our packaging rooms, the expansion of our storage facilities and the enhancement of our IVRS capabilities are all important milestones for Bilcare and our customers.”
PRISYM Medica label design and production software is specifically developed to meet the FDA’s current compliance requirements, in particular, 21 CFR Part 11. The software uses high levels of security and data encryption to ensure systems integrity and regulatory compliance at all times. It is able to record critical activities and electronically links them to individual users, along with time and date stamping. This is the same software labeling program used by many large pharmaceutical companies. In accordance with Bilcare’s User Requirement Specification, the software can print labels in up to 32 different languages as fixed text as well as sequentially numbered and randomized labels. PRISYM’s software solution provides additional label project management tools such as reporting capabilities and study specific packaging configuration set-up.
